Welcome

Welcome to Pleasant Valley Pediatric Medicine, PLLC

Pleasant Valley Pediatric Medicine is located on Route 44 (Main St) at the beginning of “downtown” Pleasant Valley, right across the street from the Town Hall.  It is on the ground level of a two-story office building, has a free outdoor parking lot right next to the office, and is handicap accessible.

We can take care of most minor (and not so minor) pediatric sick visits and evaluations, in addition to routine newborn care and physicals up to the age of 21yo.  We offer routine vaccinations for patients of the practice, either through private insurance or the New York State VFC program.  We can also do vision and hearing screening (including for early childhood amblyopia).  We offer many rapid tests:  urinalysis, glucose, mononucleosis, hemoccult (microscopic blood in the stool), Strep throat, RSV, Flu, and Covid.  If needed, we can do nebulizer (breathing) treatments for asthma, or give antibiotic and steroid injections.

We can draw blood for send-out laboratory testing, but, if necessary, we can have you take your child to either Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics to have it done at one of their drawing sites.  We cannot do Xrays on site, so if there’s a strong concern of ruling out a fractured bone, we will recommend that you see a medical facility that has that capability.

We also do not suture (stitch) wounds from injuries, and will recommend going to an urgent care -- please call us if you need to verify whether that’s needed.

Additionally, we are not a substitute for an emergency room.  If, in your best judgement, you feel that your child currently has an emergency going on in front of you, then you should call 911 to have your child taken to the hospital.

We do not take walk-in sick visits – we’ll likely have you wait until the next possible opening during the day.  It’s much more comfortable for you to call us from your place, or check online with our website for available appointment slots, and then know what time to come in.  We do try our best to stay on time with the appointments, and actually do feel bad for your inconvenience if we start running very behind – which is the reasoning for not offering walk-in availability.
